Canvas

A visual thinking space for your ideas.

Canvas is Serpaix's infinite whiteboard — designed not as a standalone tool, but as a view on top of your knowledge graph. Drag notes onto the canvas, draw connections, annotate, and think spatially.

The Problem

Linear notes can't capture non-linear thinking. When you're planning a project, designing a system, or mapping a concept, you need to think in two dimensions — but switching to a separate whiteboard tool means losing the connection to your knowledge base.

The Solution

Serpaix Canvas is a layer on top of your knowledge graph. Every note, entity, and connection can be placed on the canvas. Freehand drawing, sticky notes, shapes, and text annotations. AI-layout mode auto-arranges selected notes into a readable spatial layout. Export to SVG or PNG. Embed in any published page.

Key benefits

Notes placed on Canvas stay connected to the knowledge graph — no duplication

AI-layout mode: automatically arrange selected notes into readable clusters

Freehand drawing, shapes, text annotations, and sticky notes

Export any canvas view to SVG or PNG

Collaborative canvas: multiple team members can edit simultaneously

Embed any canvas in a published knowledge page

Technical Depth

Canvas built on tldraw (MIT licensed) with custom Serpaix node types for knowledge notes. Notes placed on canvas maintain a bidirectional reference to the original note — deleting or editing the note reflects on canvas instantly. AI layout uses UMAP-projected embeddings to position semantically similar notes near each other.
